Introduction to Drama

Drama games, exercises and improvisation. Workshops are suitable for all grade levels as an introduction to a drama unit or to advance skills. A great way to build teamwork, trust, cooperation, concentration and listening skills in the classroom. Workshops held at Magnus include a tour of the theatre…on stage and behind the scenes.

Curriculum Through Drama

One of our drama specialists will work together with you to develop lesson plans designed to teach a selected area of the curriculum through dramatic arts. The possibilities are limitless. This can be applied to any aspect of the curriculum at any grade level.


Storytelling involves soundscapes, dance, drama, tableaux and more. This is an exploration of theatrical techniques for dramatic and effective storytelling. Students dramatize their own stories, a traditional tale, a book, or anhistorical event. Suitable for all grade levels.

Lecture/Demonstration Series

Artistic staff from a current Magnus production will visit your classroom and discuss their background in the theatre, aspects of the production and answer questions from the students. Suitable for Junior, Intermediate and Senior students.


Fast paced, imaginative and entertaining. Students develop cooperation, listening and problem solving skills. And they think they’re just having fun! Students will learn some of the basic skills necessary for successful improvisation, then get to try them out playing popular improv games. Suitable for Junior, Intermediate and Senior students.

Creative movement, costumes, and accessories for character creation. Perfect as an introductory unit on character creation or in conjunction with play rehearsals. Suitable for all grades.

Script or story analysis for character development. Workshop intensive designed to further develop characters students are currently working on. Suitable for Intermediate and Senior students.
